12 is a love letter to our 12 year old selves and the struggles many Black youth face living in the United States. 12 was inspired by the life and death of Tamir Rice and other young Black bodies that were killed by police.
CD Forum has asked five Seattle artists to explore what it is to be male identified, Black and 12. What are their joys, their hopes, their struggles and their fears? What is the gift they want to give their younger selves, and what is the gift they want to give other 12 year old Black youth?
This is a work in progress showing that will evolve over the course of a year.
